- Aprilia SR 160 RACE

Aprilia showcased the BS6-compliant Aprilia SR160 at the 2020 expo. The BS6-compliant SR160 is priced at Rs 1.03 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). Apart from the BS6-compliant motor, the rest of the mechanicals are the same as the older model. The updated motor now makes 11PS, which is 0.94PS more than the BS4 version. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is via disc brakes on both wheels with single-channel ABS as standard. The Aprilia SR 160 does not have any direct competition, but in terms of sportiness, the TVS NTorq 125 is its closest competitor.
Aprilia SR 160 Race Specifications
Aprilia SR 160 BS6 is powered by 160.03 cc engine. This SR 160 BS6 engine generates a power of 11.01 PS @ 7600 rpm and a torque of 11.6 Nm @ 6000 rpm. Aprilia SR 160 BS6 gets Drum brakes in the front and rear. The kerb weight of SR 160 BS6 is 118 Kg. Aprilia SR 160 BS6 has Tubeless Tyre and Alloy Wheels.
Aprilia SR 160 Race Features
With the switch to BS6, the engine on the SR gained 2mm of stroke, from 58.6mm to 60.6mm. As a result, its displacement went up from 154.8cc to 160.03cc. And that’s how the SR 150 became the SR 160. This slightly larger engine produces nearly 1hp and 0.7Nm more torque than the older one, and it’s this new unit that also powers the SR 160 Race Edition. The addition of a fuel-injection system has resulted in a more connected feel with the throttle. On the downside, the new motor lacks that sharp initial response when you open the throttle.
Aprilia SR 160 Race Variants
Aprilia SR 160 BS6 STD is the base variant in the SR 160 lineup and is priced at Rs. 1.04 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). - Aprilia SR 160

The Aprilia SR 160 has been launched with a new high performance 160 cc single-cylinder engine that is now fuel-injected to meet the upcoming stringent emission norms. With the new powertrain, the Aprilia SR 150 has been replaced by the SR 160, which now starts from Rs 104,000 and is about Rs 19,000 more expensive than the BS4 version. The 160 scooters get a 160 cc single-cylinder, 3-valve engine, making 10.7 bhp at 7,600 rpm and peak torque of 11.6 Nm at 6,000 pm. Visually, there are no changes to the models and the scooters continue to get distinctive styling. There aren’t new graphics or decals either, which we do think is an opportunity missed in refreshing the scooters for the new model year.
Aprilia SR 160 Specifications
Aprilia SR 160 is a scooter available at a starting price of Rs. 1,05,571 in India. It is available in 3 variants and 5 colours with top variant price starting from Rs. 1,12,762. Aprilia SR 160 Variants
In terms of mechanicals, the most important change comes underneath the SR160 in the form of a larger 160cc, BS6-compliant, fuel-injected motor. It churns out 10.7bhp at 7600rpm and 11.6Nm at 6000rpm which is a minor increase of 0.5bhp and 0.2Nm over the BS4 model.

Aprilia has launched a disc brake variant of the BS6-compliant Storm 125 at Rs 91,321 (ex-showroom Pune). That’s a premium of Rs 23,000 over the BS4 model. Apart from the added braking equipment, the scooter also gets a semi-digital instrument console.
The BS6-compliant 124.9cc air-cooled, single-cylinder motor makes around 9.5PS of power and 10Nm of torque. The scooter gets a CVT transmission. Suspension setup includes telescopic forks and a rear monoshock. The biggest change in underpinnings is the inclusion of smaller 12-inch wheels fitted with chunky Vee dual-purpose tyres. To keep costs down, the Storm 125 misses out on a front disc brake and instead uses drum brakes on both wheels for braking. It gets CBS as standard fitment.
Aprilia Storm 125 Specifications
Aprilia Storm 125 is powered by 124.45 cc engine. This Storm 125 engine generates a power of 10.06 PS @ 7500 rpm and a torque of 9.60 Nm @ 5500 rpm. Aprilia Storm 125 gets Drum brakes in the front and rear. The kerb weight of Storm 125 is 118 Kg. Aprilia Storm 125 has Tubeless Tyre and Alloy Wheels.
Aprilia Storm 125 Features

- Aprilia SR 125

Aprilia has discontinued the SR 125 from the Indian market. The brand intends to keep the ‘SR’ badge premium and its only 125cc scooter offering will be the Storm 125. The SR 125 BS6 will be available on sale until stocks last. The Aprilia SR 125 looks exactly like its bigger sibling, the SR 150, albeit for the redesigned stickers. But surprisingly it doesn’t pack the same amount of fun and thrill factor that the SR 150 possesses.
Aprilia SR 125 Specifications
Powering the scooter is the same engine that is seen on the Vespa 125. This 124.7cc air-cooled, single-cylinder motor churns out 9.52PS of power and 9.9Nm of torque. The telescopic front and rear monoshock are as stiff as seen on the SR 150, while braking is done via a 220mm front disc and a 140mm rear drum setup, which has a strong bite.
Aprilia SR 125 Features
There’s no denying the fact that the Aprilia SR 125 looks exactly similar to its elder sibling, the SR 150. However, it does gain some subtle changes, such as the ‘SR 125’ monikers, some stickers as compared to the SR 150 and a new wider rear section. In terms of features, it packs a two-pod analogue console, a higher set grab rail, wider seat and 14-inch wheels.
Aprilia SR 125 Variants
When it comes to performance, the NTorq 125 feels fairly close to the Aprilia SR 125. However, it excels in terms of practicality by offering a plethora of features such as a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation assist, a mobile charging socket, a softer suspension setup and more. While offering all this, it also undercuts the SR 125 by a great margin at Rs 58,750.
