Equipped with two twin scroll turbochargers, high-pressure injection and Valvetronic, the high-performance power unit inside the BMW M8 Coupé impresses both on the road and on the racetrack: 750 Nm of torque, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds.

14. BMW X4

The BMW X4 is a sportier version of the X3. It pulls all the right strings if you aspire for a stylish SUV that stands-out from the crowd. It offers explosive performance, especially in the 30d and 30i M Sport X guise, and a pliant ride even with 19-inch wheels. Sure, BMW could have worked on the comfort levels, but that would be completely missing the point of designing a coupe-SUV.
BMW X4 Specifications
The BMW X4 is not for everyone. Then again, that’s true for the SUV-coupe body style on the whole. The X4 doesn’t have the road presence of the larger X6 but still stands out for its sloping roofline, short deck-boot look. Stylised M Sport bumpers and details give it adequate visual oomph too. But for all its distinction on the outside, the X4 looks like any other BMW on the inside. Quality is superb but the environment is just too familiar. The X4’s sporty front seats hold you well but the rear seat isn’t the best; the backrest is upright and tall occupants will find headroom limited.
BMW X4 Features
The BMW X4 range starts with the 20d, whose 190hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine offers fair performance but it does get a bit buzzy. Petrolheads will like the 252hp, 2.0-litre petrol 30i’s pace and zing, but if it’s performance you want, there’s no match for the 30d. Its 3.0 straight-six diesel makes 265hp and 620Nm of torque and will shock for the way it pulls. The X4 corners with poise too but the steering doesn’t offer the same connect you’d expect from a BMW unit. Ride comfort is largely good but you can feel a firmness in the setup on broken patches
BMW X4 Variants
There are few feature differences between the three versions of the X4. All versions get LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof and three-zone climate control. However, the X4 20d makes do with a smaller screen for the infotainment system and analogue dials, and also misses on launch control and head-up display offered on the X4 30i and 30d. Of the engines, the 3.0 diesel is easily the pick of the range. It really gives the X4 the go to match the show.

19. BMW M5 Facelift – Upcoming

BMW’s M5 performance sedan has been updated to bring it into line with the recently facelifted 5 Series. The Mercedes-AMG E63 rival receives a number of revisions, including tweaked styling, new in-car technology and a retuned chassis.
The exterior changes for the M5 are mostly focused on the front end, where a new double-bar grille design features alongside a reprofiled bumper with new air intakes. The headlights have also been redesigned, bringing new L-shaped LED tubes and incorporating BMW’s Dynamic Laser Matrix Beam for extra brightness on full beam.
At the rear, there’s a new apron and diffuser design, alongside fresh 3D LED tail-lights and a new tailpipe shape.
The updated M5 is covered in new black detailing, including on the grille and intake mesh, boot lid spoiler, mirror caps, tailpipes and rear apron. Five new paint finishes and a new 20-inch wheel design also feature.
20. BMW X8 – Upcoming

BMW’s latest range-topping SUV, the BMW X8, has been spotted in prototype form. The X8 is expected to be built on the same underpinnings as the X7 but offer a more aggressive design and further performance options to help it stack up against the most expensive versions of the Audi Q8.
It’s clear to see the upcoming BMW X8 car has a more aggressive design than the X7 on which it’s based – most noticeably because of its coupe-like sloping roofline. If you hoped the X8 would do away with BMW’s huge kidney grilles, you’re out of luck – chances are they’ll be even larger than those on the X7.
