  1. KIA Rio – Upcoming

The South Korean automaker, KIA is gearing up for its India debut by 2020. It gave a glimpse of the expected line-up at the 14th edition of the Delhi Auto Expo which also included the KIA Rio hatchback which could be launched in India sometime next year or in 2020. Interestingly, the Kia Rio will be based on the Hyundai-KIA GB platform which also underpins its Korean cousin, Hyundai i20. Set to venture into the premium hatchback segment, the KIA Rio price in India could be placed between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

The KIA Rio hatchback is expected to share engines with the Hyundai i20, which implies it could get the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre units in petrol and diesel guise. While the transmission options are expected to include a manual as well as an automatic gearbox.

Likely to use the same engines as the Hyundai i20, expect KIA Rio to deliver impressive fuel economy. Though the exact figures are yet unknown, the KIA Rio hatchback is expected to return similar mileage as its Korean cousin.
