Volkswagen has commenced bookings for the automatic variants of the Polo. You can book one via your nearest VW dealership or through the official website. The Polo TSI AT is offered in the range-topping GT TSI trim and costs Rs 1.78 lakh more than the similarly specced Highline Plus variant. It will be powered by a 110PS/175Nm 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. It’s paired to a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Volkswagen has discontinued the Polo’s 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre TSI engine. It is now available with a 1.0-litre TSI and 1.0-litre MPI engine, both of which are BS6-compliant. The new 1.0-litre TSI motor makes 110PS and 175Nm of twist and is now mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter. This means that the Polo is no longer available with the 7-speed DSG. Volkswagen unveiled a 90 per cent production-spec Taigun compact SUV at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Media Night. It is VW’s first SUV under the India 2.0 strategy and is built on the MQB-A0-IN platform. It looks similar to the China spec T-Cross but is longer at 4.26 metres. Interiors are likely to include a large touchscreen infotainment system as well as a digital instrument cluster Under the hood, the Taigun could be powered by a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol mill good for 115PS of power and 200Nm of torque.

Latest Update: Volkswagen has revealed that its upcoming compact SUV will be called Taigun.
